5 SIMPLE THINGS YOU CAN DO TO SUPPORT THE BERNADINE WADE FAMILY

Greetings All,

First, on behalf of the Wade family and the NHHPC, I'd like to thank all of you for contacting us and asking how you can assist in the family's fight for justice.


There are a few things you can do:

1) SPREAD THE WORD: We have printed up many flyers that summarize the situation and promote the march that will be held on April 11th in Ohio. These flyers also include contact information. Passing these flyers out in your neighborhoods, organizations, businesses, places of worship, barber shops, beauty salons, schools, colleges, etc would be a great way of spreading the word! If you would like to help in this capacity, I can mail you out however many flyers you need! Just forward me a mailing address and I will get them to you ASAP!

2) USE YOUR CONNECTS: The more high-profile this case gets, the better the chances for raising awareness and fueling the action necessary to get the law changed and to hold the school accountable. Therefore, if you have personal connects with media outlets or high profile individuals who can help get the word out, that would be great! Try to think about who the leaders (individual and organizational) are in your community...and ask them to support the Wade family.

3) E-MAIL, BLOG, AND GET DIGITAL: The internet is a fast, inexpensive way to distribute information to many people at once. I would encourage all of you to use your e-mail connects, your blog spaces, and any other digital presence that you have to help raise awareness about the Wade family. The Jena 6 movement was largely built because of the internet. Also, if you are on Myspace, add the Wade family page as a friend at http://www.myspace.comjusticeforthewades/. Encourage your other Myspace friends to add the page as well. Many of us who support the family on Myspace are also adding "I Support the Wade Family" to our name tagline.

4) ORGANIZE IN YOUR COMMUNITY: Try to get people in your community to go to the march on April 11th. If you can formulate a group, I can work with you to secure transportation (buses, vans, etc.) to get you to the march. The power is in the numbers and the more people we have, the better!

5) COME MARCH ON APRIL 11: We need your voice, your presence, your commitment to show legislators and school officials that we mean busines when it comes to protecting children!
